SHARJAH TO BUILD $110 million Gas Sweetening Plant Sharjah , 14-Oct-2004 Sajaa Gas Private Limited (SajGas) , a newly established joint venture company between the Government of Sharjah, together with Crescent Petroleum, and six prominent investors from the Gulf Co-operation Council (GCC), will build a gas sweetening and sulphur recovery plant at a cost of $110 million. The plant will have capacity to process 600 million standard cubic feet of gas per day, and there are plans for further expansion. The environment-friendly plant, which will adhere to world-class standards, is expected to be completed by end-2005. Petrofac International has been appointed as the Engineering, Procurement, Installation & Commissioning (EPIC) contractor for this project. Construction works have already commenced. The shareholders of SajGas are from Saudi Arabia , Kuwait , Bahrain , Abu Dhabi and Sharjah.
